A request to nighttime walkers

I have noticed that when I or someone else is driving at night, that I have often seen people that are not only walking on the wrong side of the road, but they are wearing dark clothing. This habit is very dangerous and it puts their lives at risk.

A lot of the streets in Fallbrook do not have sidewalks and don’t have streetlights, so drivers have a hard time seeing these night walkers until they are almost upon them, and so they have to swerve as a result.

Wearing lighter clothing allows drivers to pick up the walkers that much easier, and it allows them more reaction time. It is great that people want to walk at night; the sun is not beating down like it sometimes does, but they should do it safely.

That means walk on the side of the road going against traffic, and wear light clothing. Thomas Brunette
