Thank you to merchants

Local merchants and local education have teamed up to create a win-win situation for both parties. Sports Look Pizza and Baskin Robbins have been participating in a periodic fundraising program at St. Peter’s Catholic School. They are hosting Family Fun Nights for St. Peter’s families and their friends. The merchants provide a coupon, which must be presented when ordering. Then, they give a percentage of the proceeds of the coupon sales to St. Peter’s.

The program is successful because everyone benefits. The merchants are hosting the Family Fun Nights on their slower nights and this brings in a good amount of business they would otherwise not have. The families get a night out and an opportunity to visit with friends. St. Peter’s brings in monies that their Parent-Teacher Group (PTG) has allocated to a Teachers’ Fund. This Teachers’ Fund is used to purchase whatever the teachers decide they want or need the most. Recently, the funds have been used to provide assemblies for the students with various visitors.

The fundraisers are a good example of how local merchants can give back to the community and market themselves at the same time. No one loses when everyone wins. A big “thank you” from St. Peter’s to Sports Look Pizza and Baskin Robbins!
