Thank you to the FLC

I am writing this letter in appreciation of Jean Dooley and members of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy. Last year, Jean organized a planting project of native plants for students at La Paloma Elementary School. Recently, our student planted these seedlings in the Dinwiddie Preserve. Again, Jean organized this successful event, along with many volunteers including Jim Dooley, Mike Peters, Howard Sansom, John Williams, Irv Shecter, Susan Sullivan, Sharon Kersey, Dave Lewis, Jack Smelser, Bob Sabus and Jackie Heyneman. I also want to thank these volunteers from the sheriff’s department: Manny Ortega, Rufus Bowers, Richard Rafter, Jim Yates and Lou Munso. In addition, I want to thank Lea Curcio, assistant principal; Stephanie Wilcox, sixth grade teacher; and the fourth and fifth grade staff at La Paloma who assisted with this wonderful project. With our schools’ primary focus on academics and raising student achievement, this project gave our students a different, but equally important, educational experience.
