Sunshine supports cerebral palsy efforts

“Getting Casual for a Cause” (Casual Day) is the theme for a nationwide fundraiser for more than 10,000 businesses and their employees to support United Cerebral Palsy (UPC). Sunshine Properties GMAC is proud to join and participate in this fun and is in the top ten percent of highest earned dollars for this fundraiser. Eighty-five percent of UCP income is spent directly on programs and services to advance the independence, productivity and participation of people with disabilities.

Casual Day is always a very special event for Sunshine Properties. Della Wells, a long-term agent with Sunshine Properties, has a grandson, Andy Wells, who was born 14 years ago under unfortunate circumstances resulting in oxygen deficiency to his brain. Over the years the assistance provided by UCP to Andy and his family has proven invaluable.

Every year Andy makes a visit to the office on Casual Day and Sunshine Properties gets to see Andy’s progress and how he has grown. This year he has graduated to seventh grade and is making great progress in speaking. Della told of his great talent in writing and that he hopes to pursue some career in writing.

Andy’s transportation is a new van with a roll-out ramp. Andy is able to move his wheelchair into place himself, helping with the task of loading up in the van. This year Andy has a wish for a special bicycle that is equipped for his needs. A fundraiser has been set up for help in purchasing the costly bike of $6,000. Those wishing to donate to this bike fund can mail donations to Sunshine Properties\GMAC, 330 North Main Avenue, Fallbrook, CA 92028. For more information contact Samee at (760) 728-8855.
