Anza Fire Contained to Two Acres With Help of Storm

ANZA - A vegetation fire in Anza was limited to two acres this afternoon thanks not only to the work of the firefighters, but also a timely storm that swept through the area, according to the county fire department.

More than 100 firefighters were battling the blaze, which was reported at 1:39 p.m. near Chapman and Bailey roads, said fire spokeswoman Cheri Patterson.

''The firefighters were assisted by the heavy rain that came through the area after the lightning storm,'' Patterson said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
