Anza VFW Post #1873 and its auxiliaries

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. Congratulations to our Post member Roland Sinkule for being selected as Grand Marshal for the parade.

Our garden is growing and parts are coming to an end. We’ve put in zucchini, tomatoes, okra (which I love fried) & yellow & red bell peppers. The snow peas and broccoli are just about done, as are the artichokes. They should still be going strong, but the weather alternating cold & warm was not good for them. They’re tough & hard to eat. The birds & wind have just about taken care of the apricots. But I have hope for apples.

HEADS UP! We’re holding a CURE CANCER FUNDRAISER karaoke & dinner on July 17 for our much loved bartender, Susan. . See below for more info. Come out, enjoy the music and food. It’s for a good cause.

All members of the community are invited to our meals. They are: Wednesday & Friday, 5:00 - 7:00, Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and Saturday, noon till 3:00. We serve $1 dogs on Thursdays. If you’re interested in helping in the kitchen, please call me at 763-4560.

All Post & Auxiliary meetings start at 9 a.m. We’d like to see more members come support the Post. For more info, call 763-4439.
