Brusher Burns Acreage Near Aguanga

AGUANGA - A brush fire broke out today just north of Aguanga, scorching nearly three acres before crews got it partially contained.

The blaze was reported around 3:45 p.m. near Cahuilla and Pasta roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Thirteen engine crews and three hand crews, numbering close to 100 personnel, were working to surround the fire with the aid of two water-dropping helicopters and an air tanker, county officials said.

No homes or other structures were threatened, and there was no word on how the blaze started.
