Gunman ends argument at party by shooting three people

HEMET - A gunman ended an argument at a party in Hemet today by shooting three people, deputies said.

The shootings occurred at 1:03 a.m. in the 40000 block of East Stetson Avenue in Hemet, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Mike. Deputies found three victims with gunshot wounds to their lower bodies.

Two of the victims were taken to Hemet Valley Hospital and the third victim was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center. All three were treated for non-life threatening injuries and were described as stable, Mike said.

During their investigation, officers learned that an argument between partygoers had escalated and a male suspect began firing several rounds in the direction of the crowd.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, between 5-foot-1 to 5-foot- 7, 120 pounds, with a light mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
