Sourdough Pizza and Italian Restaurant

Where in Fallbrook can you eat all the spaghetti you want for only $3.99? Sourdough Pizza and Italian Restaurant at 321 East Alvarado Street! Owners John and Ruthie Harris not only serve pizza, but on Wednesday nights diners can eat all the spaghetti they want from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. This dinner also includes salad and garlic bread.

The spaghetti is served with a choice of a meat sauce or marinara sauce. I sampled the spaghetti with meat sauce, which was delicious. The raspberry vinaigrette dressing is a good choice for the green salad, which is also topped with shredded mozzarella. The garlic bread is toasted and seasoned to perfection.

On Tuesday evenings between the hours of 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. Sourdough offers ‘All-You-Can-Eat Pizza’ for only $2.99! Come and sample John and Ruthie’s nationally award-winning pizzas, the Shrimp Tequila Lime or the Chicken Ranch. These two pizzas took top honors as ‘Pizza of the Year’ two years in a row at the National Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in 1999 and 2000. Of course, a menu of traditional pizza is available as well, which includes the Veggie, All Meat and ever-popular House Special.

Sourdough is not just pizza and spaghetti, either; the establishment serves a full Italian menu with entrees such as Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Rosemary Ravioli and Lasagna. A new addition to the menu is the wheat pasta, which made its debut not only because it is flavorful but also because it is healthy.

This family-oriented restaurant with its cheery staff will make you feel welcome once you walk in the door. Televisions in strategic places are tuned to ESPN so diners won’t miss a second of the action.

You may catch a glimpse of some of Fallbrook’s elite when you visit Sourdough. Ruthie Harris is currently serving as Fallbrook’s Honorary Mayor and Ruthie’s daughter, Chelsey Corcoran, is a Miss Fallbrook Princess, having won first runner-up in the 2005 Miss Fallbrook pageant.

Sourdough Pizza and Italian Restaurant is open 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Friday and Saturday the same hours apply except the closing is at 8:30 p.m. Sourdough is closed on Sundays. Call (760) 723-3106 for take-out and delivery.
