Fallbrook divers soar at Palomar meet

FALLBROOK – Five Fallbrook Associated Swim Team (FAST) divers took to the diving board at Palomar College, Feb. 24 and 25, and three came home with medals.

FAST diver Dylan Lucia, 14, earned a first-place medal in the 14-15 boys 1-meter novice category, while Andrew Roback, 8, earned a first-place medal in the 9U boys 1-meter novice category. June Holston, 7, took second place in the 9U girls 1-meter novice category.

It was the first competitive meet for the three medalists, together with teammates Taylor Evans, 11, who took seventh place in her category, and Eva Thomas, 7, who took fifth.

“Diving takes dedication, discipline and courage, and all of these young athletes should be proud of the effort they put into preparing for this meet,” said FAST dive coach Terry Erard.

The Palomar meet, titled “For the Love of Diving,” was an official sanctioned event under American Athletic Union rules. A total of 146 divers competed.
