Fallbrook High basketball faces Carlsbad

The junior varsity Warrior girls were on home court to tangle with the Lancers from Carlsbad. The Warriors swept through and took the lead by the half. The Warriors’ own Jennifer Doehrina sank half a dozen shots from the free throw line. The Lancers gradually fell to the consistency and accuracy of the Warriors’ shooting pattern, and the game expired with the Warriors in the lead with a final score of 44-38.

Both genders had their varsity games in sequence with the girls playing first and the guys next. The girls had enough ball control to win, but they lacked the bullseye accuracy of their shots, the accuracy that comes with experience, which the Lancers had. The Lancers had a few aggressive players who made most of their points. The Lancers proved worthy of the win, as the final game score had the visitors on top 54 to 36.

The next game went in favor of the home team. Padilla, Tull, Bresnahan, Atkins, and every other Warrior made baskets, but the visiting Lancers kept close behind and took occasional momentary leads. The first half favored the Warriors, who missed few shots and led into the second half. The pressure was on in the second but was released once the Warriors were congratulated with a win. When the buzzer rang the score was brightly showing 68 to 61, and it was the Warriors who were victorious once again. The Lancers are quite a formidable team and have beaten this Warrior team in previous games, but not this time.
