Girls rugby schedule announced

FALLBROOK – The 2013 schedule of home games has been finalized for the Fallbrook Girls Rugby Club (FGRC). The home games are as follows:

• Saturday, Feb. 16 against S.D. Aztecs,

• Saturday, Feb. 23 against Back Bay

• Wednesday, Mar. 20 against Carson Graham of British Columbia,

• Saturday, April 6 against ORCA, and

• Saturday, April 27 against ICEF

The home games will be played at the Fallbrook High School football field. Beginning times vary, and most are played during the day. The Fallbrook public and interested persons are invited to attend and enjoy these amazing competitions.

As a rugby bonus, the Dixon Girls Rugby team of Northern California will also be playing FGRC on Feb. 16, along with a U14 “friendly” game vs. Oceanside, and a U16 game vs. S.D. Aztecs. Four games in one day.

On Saturday, Feb. 2, the team played Dead Rabbits of Apple Valley in that town. It was the first game of the season, and the FGRC beat Dead Rabbits 45-0.

The 2012 National High School Girls Rugby Champions (FGRC) practiced three times a week during Nov., Dec., and Jan. The 2013 team is comprised of veteran players as well as rookies. For more information, email [email protected].
