Local gymnast in National Championship

A gymnast from Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy in Temecula attended the Black Jack National Championship in Las Vegas, NV, which was held February 3. Teams from across the nation, as well as Canada and Mexico, were in attendance. The men’s gymnastics program is coached by Robert Crackle and John Orlando.

The team was excited to have been named Level 4 National Champions in the team competition, and many SCEGA boys went home with numerous medals and all-around placement trophies. Local gymnast David Abbott was pleased to have earned two bronze medals, a silver medal and a gold medal. He placed first overall as the Level 4 High Bar Champion with a score of 9.75 and third as an all-around in the nine-years-and-up category with a score of 55.150.

The team is preparing for the South Conference Championship on February 27, the Peter Vidmar Invitational in Los Angeles on March 4 and the California State Championship on March 11. The SCEGA parents are very proud of their boys and their accomplishments.

Team members include Christian Rodriquez, Ronny Strate, Van Langjahr, David Abbott, Grant Murphy, Hunter Fitzharris, Zachary Scheer, Nicolas Gorton and Taylor Gratrix.
