Post-season begins for FUHS 'Band of Warriors'

On Thursday, February 10, the FUHS wrestling team had their last regular season bout against Carlsbad High School at Carlsbad. The final team scores were Fallbrook 20 and Carlsbad 51.

FUHS wrestlers of note were Joey Granata at145 lbs. who pinned his opponent in 1 minute 23 seconds, J. Regner at 160 lbs. who won a technical fall, Canton Christians at 171 lbs. who won a 9-7 decision and Jake Wagaman who pinned his opponent in 2 minutes 26 seconds. Canton Christians and J. Regner are both seniors. Their consummate skill and dedication will be missed next year.

The post-season begins this Saturday, February 19, when FUHS hosts the CIF Championships for the second year in a row. Qualifying matches begin at 9 a.m. and run through the late afternoon; championship matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. and awards scheduled for 8:15 p.m.

There will be a well-stocked snack bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a smoothie bar, a BBQ and Starbucks coffee. All proceeds go to support the wrestling team, so show your support by turning out for a day of fun, excitement and good food and root Fallbrook wrestlers on to victory!
