Warrior soccer faces off against Vista

February 1, The junior varsity boys soccer team tied the Panthers from Vista 1-1. Ignacio Cordenas put in the goal for Fallbrook under ten minutes into the game. Their defense held up to the second half. After halftime, when there was a crack in the Warrior defense, the Panthers took advantage and tied the game.

Warrior junior varsity coach Omar Benjoud felt that both goalies played an outstanding game and blocked many great shots.

On the stadium field, the varsity Warriors defeated the Panthers 4-1. The Panthers discovered after the game why the Warriors are playing with full force and are hoping to be in first place by this week. At the game, the Warriors hailed Joe Paul after he dribbled past five Panthers and the goalie, easing the ball into the net and setting confidence in the Warriors once again. The lead was too great for the Panthers to come back with only minutes left. Their coach, John Hayek, summed up the match after the game: “We played some of our worst soccer in the first half and absolutely fantastic in the second half and finished our chances.”
