Christen Cavanaugh suffered traumatic injuries Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 8:38 pm when she was struck by a vehicle in the 1200 block of Fallbrook Street near the Community Center. Fallbrook Street was closed from both directions while emergency services and first responders provided advanced life support. On Sunday, August 4, at 6:11 pm, a call of an apartment fire was called in and responded to by North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD). The call came in from the 1200 block of Alturas Rd in Fallbrook. NCFPD PIO Capt. Choi said, "Three individuals were assessed and released." North County Firefighters are working to put out a fire near the Riverside/San Diego County line in DeLuz that is being called the Tenaja Fire. It currently appears to be one to two acres but is described as dense brush and firefighters are working to reach the fire. A woman was detained and taken into custody at the Fallbrook substation this morning after a 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon call at 8:41 am in the 300 block of W. Clemmens in Fallbrook. A black Dodge Charger burst into flames Thursday afternoon on Interstate 15 Northbound, causing a significant traffic disruption near Fallbrook northbound near Mission Rd. The California Highway Patrol reported the vehicle fire at approximately 2:40 p.m. local time. At about 7:30 this morning Fallbrook Sheriffs responded to a commercial burglary call at 1032 S. Main Ave at Fallbrook Guns and Ammo. Upon arrival it appears a car smashed into the back of the building but Sheriffs didn't find the driver or anyone inside. On Friday, June 7, the Sheriff received a call for a prowler on Calle de la Paloma. According to Lt. Fox in the Sheriff's Media Center, the person was transported for mental health issues after being assessed by NCFPD personnel. North County Fire Protection District responded to a car and vegetation fire that was reported at 2:46 pm on Tuesday, 5/21. The car was fully engulfed on the southbound Mission Rd offramp. Multiple units responded and the incident was closed out at 3:48 pm. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the car and keep it from burning very much vegetation. No injuries were reported. Sheriffs have arrested a suspected arsonist in Fallbrook near Pala Mesa Golf Course. Fallbrook Sheriffs and North County Fire responded to a call that a suspected arsonist was setting fires in Fallbrook near Hwy 395 and Reche Rd. UPDATE: The pursuit has ended. The suspect has evaded law enforcement. The suspect is Joey Oross, age 43, from Vista. He has a felony warrant for his arrest on a narcotics related charge, according to SDSO Lt. Davis. The charges appear to stem from charges related to the possession of methamphetamines for sale.
