    A black Dodge Charger burst into flames Thursday afternoon on Interstate 15 Northbound, causing a significant traffic disruption near Fallbrook northbound near Mission Rd. The California Highway Patrol reported the vehicle fire at approximately 2:40 p.m. local time. According to witness accounts, flames were visible from the front of the vehicle as it sat in the center divider. Occupants managed to safely exit the vehicle before it became fully engulfed.   • Report of attempted burglary at gun shop

    At about 7:30 this morning Fallbrook Sheriffs responded to a commercial burglary call at 1032 S. Main Ave at Fallbrook Guns and Ammo. Upon arrival it appears a car smashed into the back of the building but Sheriffs didn't find the driver or anyone inside.   • Three-Vehicle Collision Reported on Reche Road near Live Oak Park Road

    California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a three-vehicle collision on Reche Road near Live Oak Park Road earlier this evening. The incident, which occurred around 8:23 PM, involved multiple vehicles.It is unclear if there are injuries. According to CHP reports, the collision took place at 8:20 pm in the eastbound lanes of Reche Road, just west of Live Oak Park Road.   • Prowler call ends in mental health transport

    On Friday, June 7, the Sheriff received a call for a prowler on Calle de la Paloma. According to Lt. Fox in the Sheriff's Media Center, the person was transported for mental health issues after being assessed by NCFPD personnel. The man had previously lived at the residence and there was a restraining order in place as well, according to Lt. Fox. No injuries were reported.... Full story

    The Fallbrook Public Utility District adopted FPUD’s Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget. FPUD’s board voted 5-0 May 29 to adopt the 2024-25 budget. The budget projects $24,845,523 of operating expenses, $6,141,314 for debt service payment, and $11,726,000 of capital expenditures. The $30,986,987 total non-capital budget is 10.6% less than the $34,649,856 amount in the 2023-24 budget.
