    North County Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle versus an elderly woman at the entrance of the Albertson’s parking lot around 8:11 pm Tuesday, May 24. The south parking lot entrance was closed for a short time while firefighter paramedics checked the victim. She refused medical treatment. The parking lot entrance was reopened.   • Smoke disrupts Slurpee business at 7-11

    UPDATE - A clerk at 7-11 has said that there was no fire there, only smoke. An early Sunday morning fire at the 7-11 at Main and Fallbrook Street, was quickly extinguished. A call went out around 5:30 am when a 7-11 employee heard a pop and smelled smoke and called the fire department, said North County Fire Protection District spokesman John Choi.     UPDATE; 05-14-22 11:30 am The North Zone Strike Team and an OES Strike Team are on their way home from the Laguna Niguel Coastal Fire, according to John Choi, spokesman for North County Fire Protection District. North Zone Strike Team consists of NCFPD, Vista, Carlsbad, Rincon, Pala and Rancho Santa Fe. Choi said NCFPD also deployed two engines to assist with the Costal Fire. Both engines have returned.     A mid-Thursday (May 12) afternoon accident reported at 3:44 pm resulted in injuries. The two-vehicle accident was at E. Fallbrook Street and Debra Ann. Traffic was diverted by California Highway Patrol. "The single vehicle with a driver in a Dodge Caravan struck a Lincoln Navigator, which was parked, " said NCFPD spokesman John Choi.     One person was taken to Temecula Valley Hospital with injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle collision at 11:02 a.m. Monday at the intersection of South Mission Road and Quail Knoll Road in Fallbrook. Another woman, who had minor injuries, refused to be transported to hospital. The three-vehicles involved included a black Nissan Cube, a silver sedan, and a purple sedan.   • Teen dies from flu-related complications

    Fallbrook High School graduate of 2017, Hunter Michael Conner, died Jan. 17, 2018, from complications of the flu. "Hunter was only 18 when he died, but he led a meaningful and purpose-driven life, full of joy, a thirst for learning, and a heart for those who were hurting," his parents, Troy and Rose Conner, said.
