  • Riverside pursuit ends in Bonsall

    Early breaking news story At about noon today, Sunday, one motorcycle rider was taken into custody by CHP, according to witnesses on the scene in Bonsall River Village. Reports are that the pursuit started in Riverside and included two motorcycles. Apparently, one was able to escape the pursuit. The second person was pursued all the way to Bonsall River Village, where he attempted to hide the bike and himself. Officers took him into custody at about noon. More information... Full story

    UPDATE: A man in his late 20s was taken into custody around noon after a 3-hour standoff with authorities.   • Residential fire near Olive Hill Rd

    A working residential fire was reported at 1:02 pm today in the 300 block of Whitehorse Ln. near Olive Hill Rd. It was an attic fire, according to North County Fire PIO Rich Berry.   • UPDATE: Brothers plead not guilty to killing Vista man in Bonsall

    Two brothers, 27-year-old Dionicio Miguel Figueroa and 38-year-old Carlos Miguel Figueroa, pleaded not guilty this week to stabbing and killing a Vista man, 39-year-old Manuel Aguirre, in Bonsall last Thursday, Feb. 23. They are being held in the Vista jail without bail and face 25-years-to-life. The call came in at about 1:30 p.m., Feb. 23.   • Suspicious person seen vandalizing property

    At 6:49 am this morning a suspicious person was reported to the Sheriff's Department in the 1000 block of S. Mission Rd. in the parking lot containing Kentucky Fried Chicken, Winchell's, Dominoes, and Rosa's. At 8;22 am another call was received about vandalism.   • Armed robbery reported in downtown Fallbrook

    Today Sheriff's deputies were actively searching for an armed robber that fled on foot after robbing a business in the 200 block of W. Aviation. According to Lt. Wisniewski, there may have been an argument in the business and a male was reported to have attempted to stab the employee. The employee was able to take a kitchen knife away from the man befire he fled on foot with $200.     TUESDAY 5 am On Sunday, Feb. 5, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a 21-year-old male, identified as Nathan, from Fallbrook, was walking in the roadway westbound on East View Street near North Main Avenue. For reasons still under investigation, an unknown blue sedan, traveling westbound on View Street collided with the pedestrian and fled the scene.     UPDATE: The County Medical Examiner's office has identified the deceased man who passed away in the abandoned home at 1307 E. Mission on January 28, as 25-year-old Xavier Villa. He had a nickname of Klepto, according to the SDSO Media Relations Lt. Collins, it was a suspected overdose. Those interviewed on the morning of the death stated that the cause was likely a fentanyl overdose. The Medical Examiner's office reports that the death is still under investigation.     One male motorcycle rider was transported with mild injuries to Palomar Hospital, according to NCFPD PIO Rich Berry. A motorcyclist was down in what appeared to be a single-vehicle accident at Reche and Gird Rd at 4:25 pm tonight (Sunday).   • 2000 customers lose power in Fallbrook

    A power outage for 2008 customers has resulted from a traffic accident reported at 10:39 am this morning. There are downed power lines on Alvarado St. The outage was expected to last until 4 pm, however many homes were restored by 11:40 am.     UPDATE: The young man arrested last night Guillermo Macias, who may go by the name Mack, has a prior which is a felony. He is allegedly gang-related. He was arrested in 2017 for assault with force, great bodily injury likely, 254(A)(4) PC - Arrest date was 8-20-2017. He spent 90 days in jail, according to the Sheriff's department.   • Overturned vehicle on I-15 is cleared

    At 10 am this morning, Monday, there were two traffic collisions being reported on the I-15 South near Mission Rd. An SUV is being reported on its side just north of Mission Rd. off-ramp and another grey Toyota Yaris in the center divide just south of Mission which is just a spin-out. Reports to CHP include: "The vehicle hydroplaned from the fast lane and overturned, landing on right-hand shoulder."     A traffic accident, possibly between three cars, on I-15 S, near SR 76 was reported to CHP at 4:43 am. Authorities are on the scene trying to avoid a pile-up involving more cars. It seems a car was reported that was driving slow in the #1 lane and another vehicle braked to keep from hitting it, and another car rear-ended that vehicle.
