  • Man arrested after assault at Rite-aid

    Update: 2:00 p.m. After an altercation in the parking lot of Rite Aid, Wednesday morning, Aug. 31, one man was treated for a gash on his arm by North County Fire paramedics on scene.     FALLBROOK – On Tuesday, Aug. 16, at approximately 3:40 p.m., a 63-year-old male from Escondido was riding a red Honda CTX motorcycle in the eastbound lane of East Mission Road, east of Via Zancas.     North County Fire firefighters were dispatched to a vegetation fire in the area of Reche Road and S. Old Highway 395 in Fallbrook at 1352 hrs according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. Engine 114 arrived on scene at 1358 hrs and quickly stopped the forward rate of spread of a small vegetation fire. According to PIO Choi, the size of the fire was approximately 20 ft by 30 ft.   • Person rescued from Santa Margarita River with life-threatening injuries

    On August 7th at 8:47 pm, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the NCFPD in the recovery of a missing person found in the Santa Margarita River in the 2500 block of North Stage Coach Lane. A body had been found in the river and SDSO requested help retrieving him out of the water. The call was upgraded to a full water rescue response when it was discovered that the person was still alive.     At 3 pm today, Friday, August 5, there was an accident on East Mission at Santa Margarita Road. CHP reported a sedan vs. a motorcycle. The accident was affecting traffic with debris in the eastbound lanes.
