    SAN DIEGO - The San Diego City Council today passed an emergency ordinance requiring all city employees to be fully vaccinated from COVID-19 by Wednesday or face getting fired. The mandate will also apply to all future city employees. City contractors also must be fully vaccinated, but they have until Jan. 3 to do so.   • Traffic accident closes all SB I-15 lanes north of SR 76

    A two-vehicle accident closed all lanes north of the 76 on the Southbound side, however, one lane is now open. NCFPD crews arrived on the scene to find a two-vehicle traffic accident with one vehicle fully engulfed, which caught the second vehicle on fire. One patient has been transported to the hospital and crews are waiting for tow trucks to arrive on the scene and then they can reopen the freeway. 8 pm This is an early version story.   • NCFPD thankful despite busy Thanksgiving with medical emergencies, accidents and car fires

    In addition to a two-vehicle car accident and fire that has I-15 southbound freeway lanes closed (see related story), there were several other medical emergencies and accidents that kept NCFPD first responders busy this Thanksgiving. Despite these incidents, NCFPD PIO John Choi says they are thankful for community vigilance and that the fires were contained to vehicles.   • Fully engulfed vehicle on I-15 Northbound affecting traffic

    There is a vehicle fire on I-15 Northbound just north of SR 76 that was reported at 6:17 pm tonight. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a Kia Rio sedan fully engulfed and fire spreading to vegetation. NCFPD was able to stop the rate of spread so there was no response necessary from CalFire. The right lane has been blocked for fire control effort and according to NCFPD PIO John Choi, traffic is expected to be impacted until about 7:15 pm. There are no known injuries at this...

  • Water shutdown in northern Fallbrook neighborhoods

    Fallbrook Public Utility District has shut down several neighborhoods that are without water, including Hillcrest Lane, Knollpark Lane, Santa Margarita Road, and North Stage Coach Lane. The water is shut down due to broken underground water pipes. According to FPUD, not all areas are without water. Some homes may experience low water pressure.     A person driving a truck struck a utility pole this morning in the 200 block of East Alvarado and had to be extricated by North County Fire, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. The call came in at 6:59 am and the driver was extricated at 7:18 am and transported with life-threatening injuries.     FALLBROOK - A pedestrian was killed Saturday night on a road near the Fallbrook gate of the U.S. Naval Weapons Station.   • UPDATE: Residential Fire contained in Rainbow

    The residential fire reported at 1468 Rainbow Crest has been contained. According to NCFPD John Choi it was an exterior fire that didn't go into the interior of the house. NCFPD went into the attic to make sure it hadn't spread inside.
