    Nicholas "Nick" Burg, age 29, was taken into custody yesterday, 7-16-21, by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Burg was arrested on suspicion of murder in the first degree after the discovery of remains of an unidentified male homicide victim buried where Burg was living in the 400 block of Ridge Dr. in Fallbrook.   • NCFPD rescues rider after falling from horse on trail

    At 10:44 am Sunday, North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) was called after a woman in her 30s fell from her horse on a trail in Bonsall near SR 76 and Montellano. The trail was uphill and surrounded by vegetation. According to NCFPD PIO John Choi the woman wasn't able to get up and walk or move, so they had to use a board to carefully lift her.     The male driver who died after veering off the I-15 onto Dulin Road below was Danilo Benjamin Samayoa, age 36, was from Perris, California. Despite aggressive resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at Palomar Medical Center on 7/24/21. It is still unknown why Samayoa's truck left the freeway, tumbling onto Dulin Road below.   • Fallbrook homicide victim identified as Murrieta resident

    The body that was found buried on a property on Ridge Dr. in Fallbrook on July 14, 2021 has been identified by the County Medical Examiner's Office as fifty-six-year-old Robert Berry Pierce (Also known as Bobby Berry Pierce). The next of kin has been notified, according the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. It appears Pierce was from Murrieta. More will be reported as the information becomes available.   • Woman veers off freeway after being 'bumped' by semi-truck

    At 5:38 pm tonight, a car reportedly veered off the southbound I-15 freeway after being "bumped" by a semi-truck, just south of SR 76. A woman, who was driving the car, was able to drive down the steep west embankment.     The eastbound lanes of Highway 76 at Pala Road in Fallbrook were opened at about 1:43 am, according to North County Fire Protection District, after a head-on traffic collision on eastbound Highway 76 at Pala Road happened at 12:29 am in Fallbrook.     SAN DIEGO - Authorities today publicly identified a 54-year old man who died this week in a suspected DUI crash in northern San Diego County.   • Rescue traffic collision reported on SB 15 and SR 76

    At 8:08 pm tonight, Friday, a traffic collision was reported to the CHP. North County Fire was on scene and rescued the driver from the Volvo which reportedly left the freeway and crashed into a tree on the SB 15 just north of SR 76. Apparently the Volvo hit another car before ultimately hitting the tree. The driver didn't appear to be injured and both vehicles were towed from the scene.   • Vehicle vs. propane tank accident reported near North Stage Coach Lane

    Saturday, June 26, a Ford Explorer struck a propane line from a propane tank on a private property on North Stage Coach Lane. The driver was not injured. There was a leak detected and North County Fire responded and was able to shut down the leak quickly, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi.     A vehicle fire was reported Sunday, 4:36 pm at 3801 Sumac summit in Fallbrook. North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) PIO John Choi said, "The BMW sedan was being driven up a steep hill, started smoking and the engine caught fire.
