There have been multiple calls to the Village News about a fire on Old Stage in town. The cause is a flag burning ceremony at the VFW, which causes some blooms of black smoke. The VFW does this ceremony periodically, which is the respectful way to retire worn flags. It was reported as a hit and run and it was reported that a good Samaritan helped the motorcycle rider out of the street and the bike as well. The Airport Fire, as of Sunday, 9/15/24, has been reported to have burned 23,519 and 19% containment. Ten firefighters have been injured and two civilians. There were 20,780 structures threatened and 152 structures destroyed. Structures damaged stands at 31. There are still some hard closures that the public needs to be aware of. North County Fire has a Battalion Chief leading a strike team of engines to assist in the Roblar Fire on Camp Pendleton. NCF has one brush engine committed to the fire. A motorcycle accident occurred on Monday evening at the intersection of South Mission Road and Hellers Bend, resulting in minor injuries to the rider. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident took place at approximately 8:44 pm when a motorcyclist was involved in a solo traffic collision. BREAKING: A residence has been reported on fire on Oshia Ln near Lilac Rd in Valley Center at 3:21 pm this afternoon. It was also noted that there may be fireworks inside the home and it was believed that no one was inside the residence. A man was reported to be a possible jumper from the Lilac Bridge in Bonsall. The Deer Springs Fire Department responded, as well as the Sheriff and CHP. A fire broke out at a residence located at 2946 Vista Del Rio on Sunday evening, July 28, around 6:42 p.m. The blaze originated in the garage/driveway area of the two-story home, involving several cars and renovation materials that were being moved onto the driveway. July 24, 2024, 3:54 PM A single-vehicle accident occurred this afternoon when a dark blue truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado, veered off the right-hand side of the road and crashed into trees, authorities reported. UPDATE: A Fallbrook man, Chase Trulove, 18, was one of the two men arrested for the Escondido carjacking that ended in Fallbrook on Saturday, sending one woman to the hospital. CHP arrested and booked John Gleason, 69, from Fallbrook for a DUI just after midnight this morning, April 7. His blood/alcohol level was reported to be .08 percent. Two car chases were reported tonight. This is an early version story. There was a report to CHP at about 10:09 pm tonight, Friday, 04/05/24. A BMW and a blue truck were reported to be chasing each other. One of them was struck and on the right hand shoulder of the eastbound lanes on Sr76 near S.Mission Rd and just east of Thoroughbred.
