There have been multiple calls to the Village News about a fire on Old Stage in town. The cause is a flag burning ceremony at the VFW, which causes some blooms of black smoke. A fire broke out at a residence located at 2946 Vista Del Rio on Sunday evening, July 28, around 6:42 p.m. The blaze originated in the garage/driveway area of the two-story home, involving several cars and renovation materials that were being moved onto the driveway. UPDATE: A Fallbrook man, Chase Trulove, 18, was one of the two men arrested for the Escondido carjacking that ended in Fallbrook on Saturday, sending one woman to the hospital. Trulove was arrested on charges including carjacking, conspiracy, hit and run, and evading police. CHP arrested and booked John Gleason, 69, from Fallbrook for a DUI just after midnight this morning, April 7. His blood/alcohol level was reported to be .08 percent. Earlier in the day witnesses saw Gleason slumped over his steering wheel while driving west on Fallbrook Street, through a red traffic light at Main Ave. Gleason came to a stop after crashing into a tree behind Denny's and the ReMax Real Estate building.
