This morning at 10:31 am, May 1, there was a medical emergency call on S. Main Ave and Ash St. There was a man who appeared to be unconscious and possibly homeless, according to witnesses on the scene. There was also a small dog which appeared to have a rope too tightly around it's neck. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department identified Fallbrook patrol deputy Evan McCormick as the law enforcement officer who shot a man who had allegedly advanced towards sheriff's personnel with a rifle in Fallbrook. Several Vista and Fallbrook Sheriff's units are on the scene in Bonsall River Village in front of the Jack in the Box. They have arrested a man, reported to be Gary Ocampo, age 23, who is accused of committing a crime while out on bail and domestic violence. The 18-year-old driver of a Kia was arrested in the early morning hours today, April 2, on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, and two counts of felony child endangerment after a pursuit from Riverside to Vista ended in a crash with four occupants detained and rushed to area hospitals with unknown injuries. CHP responded to a three-vehicle collision on S. 395, north of SR 76 at Canonita Dr. at 6:35 pm tonight, Tuesday. SDG&E is reporting two outages at 4:57 pm today, Monday, March 27, 2023. One circuit, FB1, is affecting over 1041 homes and businesses in central Fallbrook. The other circuit is affecting 1957 homes from the Live Oak area down to the SR 76. SDG&E reports that they are investigating the outages and they estimate that the power will be back on by 7:30 pm to 8 pm. Alll power was restored. Early breaking news story At about noon today, Sunday, one motorcycle rider was taken into custody by CHP, according to witnesses on the scene in Bonsall River Village. Reports are that the pursuit started in Riverside and included two motorcycles. Apparently, one was able to escape the pursuit. The second person was pursued all the way to Bonsall River Village, where he attempted to hide the bike and himself. Officers took him into custody at about noon. More information... Full story
UPDATE: A man in his late 20s was taken into custody around noon after a 3-hour standoff with authorities. Two brothers, 27-year-old Dionicio Miguel Figueroa and 38-year-old Carlos Miguel Figueroa, pleaded not guilty this week to stabbing and killing a Vista man, 39-year-old Manuel Aguirre, in Bonsall last Thursday, Feb. 23. They are being held in the Vista jail without bail and face 25-years-to-life. The call came in at about 1:30 p.m., Feb. 23. At 6:49 am this morning a suspicious person was reported to the Sheriff's Department in the 1000 block of S. Mission Rd. in the parking lot containing Kentucky Fried Chicken, Winchell's, Dominoes, and Rosa's. At 8;22 am another call was received about vandalism. Around 2 pm today, February 15, six Sheriff's cars were combing downtown for a suspect who was called in as waving a shovel in a threatening manner. The call was a 417 DISPLAY OF WEAPON IN A THREATENING MANNER near N. Vine St and E. Ivy. There was reported a pursuit on February 3, at 8:32 pm around SR 76 and Old Hwy 395, including a Sheriff helicopter in the area. "A CHP Oceanside Area officer made a traffic enforcement stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado on SR-76 eastbound/ near Pala Road for speeding and weaving," wrote CHP officer Hunter Gerber. A commercial fire was reported to NCFPD in the 100 block of Ash Street in Fallbrook. Fire crews were able to keep the fire contained to the storage container. UPDATE: The young man arrested last night Guillermo Macias, who may go by the name Mack, has a prior which is a felony. He is allegedly gang-related. He was arrested in 2017 for assault with force, great bodily injury likely, 254(A)(4) PC - Arrest date was 8-20-2017. He spent 90 days in jail, according to the Sheriff's department. This morning, Jan. 19, the county has been out cleaning homeless encampments near Jackie Heyneman Park, the Promenade and surrounding areas. It was the clean up and sanitation program within the Dept. Of Public Works that was out doing the work. At 10 am this morning, Monday, there were two traffic collisions being reported on the I-15 South near Mission Rd. An SUV is being reported on its side just north of Mission Rd. off-ramp and another grey Toyota Yaris in the center divide just south of Mission which is just a spin-out.
