UPDATE: On Thursday at about 7:45 PM, deputies from the Vista Gang Enforcement Team attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a blue Honda Civic for unsafe speeds at Civic Center Dr. and Sierra Verde in the city of Vista. Yanina "Yana" Macdermot, a 19-year-old woman who is autistic and has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old was found safe and sound this morning at about 11:15 am after taking a bus out of Fallbrook into Vista and then to the Escondido Transit Center. A woman who was reported missing was found this afternoon. According to the Sheriff's communication center she got separated from her family while in town and Anthony Campbell from AC Investigations found her at a bus stop and alerted deputies. North County Fire Protection District responded to a fire alarm this morning, May 31, at Fallbrook High School. At 3:39 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, March 4, a single vehicle collided with a pole on Winter Haven Road in Fallbrook. The light pole with live wires is reported to be on top of the Ford vehicle with its air bags deployed. The driver is out of the vehicle. He was reported to have said that his brake locked up. A solo vehicle accident at 6:45 pm tonight, Thursday, Feb. 17, occurred at Old Highway 395 and E. Mission Rd. in Fallbrook. UPDATE: The fire at 40491 Gavilan Mountain Road was a fully engulfed motorhome. According to NCFPD PIO John Choi, "The structure was fully involved when crews arrived and was threatening a home under construction that was only 10 ft. away. Crews were able to contain the fire to the motorhome." Choi says it took the water from four engines, which each carry 500 gallons of water, so they used about 2000 gallons. On a day that normally would be a busy shopping day, Jamie and Kathy on Valentine's Day were busy cleaning up broken glass and replacing glass cases that were destroyed during a late night robbery of their jewelry store on Main Street. Two Fallbrook businesses were robbed by an armed masked bandit. The first was a T-Mobile, last Friday, Feb. 4, in the early evening, at 840 S. Main Avenue. The next evening, Saturday, Feb. 5, possibly the same bandit, robbed the C&C Discount clothing store. It is assumed that the bandit was on foot. Part of South Mission Road was completely closed to through traffic all day Thursday, Feb. 3, and a good part of Friday, Feb. 4. The closure was just north of Green Canyon on the southbound side and just north of Via Encinas on the northbound side. An area resident said, "We occasionally see traffic diverted into our residential area, but this incident ran all day and well into the night."
