    NCFPD and CalFire responded to a car fire in the 800 block of Stewart Canyon this morning at about 9:30 am. It is unverified, but reported, that the fire spread to a home or structure.   • Sheriff vehicle totaled in two-vehicle accident

    A Fallbrook Sheriff's deputy was involved in a two-car collision this morning. It was called in at 10:04 am at the corner of W. View St. and De Luz Rd. The other vehicle was a black sedan. Both were towed. The accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol and no one transported for injuries. More information will be reported as it becomes available.... Full story

  • Motorcyclist transported after multi-vehicle accident

    A motorcyclist was transported with major injuries to Palomar hospital after being involved in a multiple-vehicle accident today, which was reported at 1:23 pm today, Wednesday, on S. Mission and Olive Hill Rd. A motorcyclist was reported as "down in lane." CHP requested three tow trucks and an air ambulance was requested for transport, although a ground ambulance was utilized for the sake of time and the motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital.   • Roads closed after gas leak

    At 8:37 am this morning, Monday, North County Fire responded to the neighborhood around Elder Street between Shady Glen and Potter with the report of a gas leak. Apparently there was some construction and a line in the street was severed. The roads are closed, including Potter Street, Elder and Shady Glen.     According to North County Fire Protection District PIO John Choi, the smoke being seen in Fallbrook and Bonsall is from two fires. One north of Fallbrook called the Highland Fire on Highland Rd and Aguanga Ranchos Rd. in Aguanga. It started at 12: 30 pm today, Monday, Oct. 30, 20223.   • Fire extinguished at old El Jardin property

    There was a fire reported at the old El Jardin restaurant property, 1561 S. Mission at 5:02 pm tonight. North County firefighters arrived on the scene to find the vegetation on fire outside the building. Deputies stated that it was more than likely started from a transient.     The engine compartment of a 1995 Dodge Dakota truck caught fire in the Northgate grocery store parking lot at 10:19 am this morning, sending smoke in the air that was visible for miles.     A working residential fire was reported at 6:54 pm tonight, Wednesday, at an apartment complex at 240 E. Fallbrook St. A witness reported that it was a gas line that caught fire and NCFPD PIO John Choi confirmed that it was a gas line break with fire.     A truck ran into low-hanging wires this morning that were sagging across Sleeping Indian Rd. in the 4600 block. at about 9 am. According to the CHP and a man involved in the incident who had extensive damage to his vehicle, the wires were sagging so low, that a truck ran into them, pulling the pole into the street and shattering it.     A shattered large display window was reported in the 200 block of N. Main Ave. in downtown Fallbrook on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Deputies arrived and entered and cleared the building.     There was a magnitude 3.6 earthquake this morning, Tuesday, at 1:05 a.m., centered off the coast 34 miles between San Clemente and Oceanside in the Gulf of Santa Catalina, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was reported to be about 10 miles deep. The quake was felt by local residents from Chula Vista to Long Beach.
