    Nicholas "Nick" Burg, age 29, was taken into custody yesterday, 7-16-21, by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Burg was arrested on suspicion of murder in the first degree after the discovery of remains of an unidentified male homicide victim buried where Burg was living in the 400 block of Ridge Dr. in Fallbrook.   • Stolen car, possibly used in traffic pursuit, recoverd

    A Honda that was reported as stolen was found, processed and recovered near Meridia and Alturas Streets this morning. It was spotted by a Fallbrook deputy who who thought it was suspicious, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department Lt. Arens. Lt.     Sunday, July 11, about 4 pm the San Diego Sheriff's homicide department, the San Diego Medical Examiner, a forensic anthropologist and Fallbrook Sheriff's deputies responded to the report of a citizen that there was a dead body at or near a pond in Fallbrook.   • Rescue traffic collision reported on SB 15 and SR 76

    At 8:08 pm tonight, Friday, a traffic collision was reported to the CHP. North County Fire was on scene and rescued the driver from the Volvo which reportedly left the freeway and crashed into a tree on the SB 15 just north of SR 76. Apparently the Volvo hit another car before ultimately hitting the tree. The driver didn't appear to be injured and both vehicles were towed from the scene.     At about 4 am on Thursday, July 1, at 3612 E. Mission a fire was reported. Some trees were burning as well as a 20 ft. x 10 ft. space of vegetation, according to North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) PIO John Choi.     UPDATE: According to North County Fire, crews are on scene of the vegetation fire in the 3000 block of State Route 76 in Fallbrook. The fire that was reported at 3:13 pm has been extinguished, but crews will remain on scene to perform mop-up and investigation.     The brush fire near Deer Springs was 80% contained today after shutting down the southbound Interstate 15 freeway, officials said. The fire started around 11:30 a.m. near I-15 and Deer Springs Road, the California Highway Patrol reported. There was an early report that the fire was holding at 25 acres from Southern California Air Operations, but Cal Fire San Diego spokesman Thomas Shoots said the correct acreage burned was seven acres, not 25.     According to San Diego Sheriff Lt. Mike Arens, at 9:08 pm tonight a call came in to the Sheriff's department that there was an attempted burglary being observed in the 100 block of West College.     TEMECULA – Kevin May, 47, of Fontana, the driver of the box truck who was directly behind a Prius and failed to slow down, on April 22, causing a collision that killed a young man has been charged with murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.   • Family dispute ends peacefully with trip to hospital

    The Fallbrook Sheriff's department was called to the scene of a dispute between a father and son in a vehicle on Camino del Cielo in Bonsall at about 6:09pm tonight.
