    A call for a residential fire came in at 12:29 pm today at 2196 Kirkcaldy Rd. in Fallbrook, according to North County Fire Protection District PIO John Choi. He said, "The first unit to arrive on scene was engine 111, which found a working fire on the left back side of the home. The fire crew went through the house and found that there was a running attic fire in the house. Crews were able to hold it in the attic and save the house." PIO Choi said two residents were home.   • Brush Fire That Scorched 350 Acres in Pala 10% Contained

    PALA MESA (CNS) - A wildfire that scorched 350 acres near Pala Casino was 10% contained today, according to Cal Fire. The blaze erupted for unknown reasons shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday off state Route 76, about a mile west of Pala Temecula Road in Pala Mesa, according to the fire department.   • Rainbow Heights fires under investigation

    At 3:30 am this morning, Friday, a vegetation fire was reported in the 7200 block of Rainbow Heights Road in a remote area near a nursery, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. He said fire crews had to hike into the area. The fires were in 2 spots, 10' x 10' and 20' x 20'. There were three supporting agencies including North County Fire Protection District, Cal Fire and Pala Fire.   • Smoke in town is Fire School on Camp Pendleton

    The smoke seen in town today is from Camp Pendleton, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. He said the Fire School is in training on the base so there will be smoke seen in town but there is no danger to Fallbrook. If anything changes we will report it.... Full story

    The forward rate has been stopped from a vegetation fire on Camino del Rey and W. Lilac that was reported at 7:22 pm tonight. According to NCFPD PIO John Choi the fire burned one-quarter acre. The cause is still under investigation....

    AT 7:49 pm a small vegetation fire was reported on SB I15, just north of Mission Rd, inside the burn area from Friday, 3 days ago.     A fire started by a vehicle has grown to 20 acres on Camp Pendleton, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. "There may be smoke available in Fallbrook," he said, "But fortunately there is a Fire School that was in the area.   • Semi vs motorcycle crash on NB I15 near scales

    A crash between a semi-truck and motorcycle was reported at 3:44 pm according to the CHP call center. The rider was transported to the hospital but was observed being able to walk.   • Smoke from two fires

    The smoke in the air over Fallbrook and Bonsall is from two fires, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. One is a 1/4 acre fire which has been stopped in the 2500 block of Wilt. There is still a vehicle le on fire however as of 12:20 pm. The other source of smoke is coming from controlled burns on Camp Pendleton.... Full story
