  • Armed robbery reported in downtown Fallbrook

    Today Sheriff's deputies were actively searching for an armed robber that fled on foot after robbing a business in the 200 block of W. Aviation. According to Lt. Wisniewski, there may have been an argument in the business and a male was reported to have attempted to stab the employee. The employee was able to take a kitchen knife away from the man befire he fled on foot with $200. Sheriff's debuties searched the area and questioned a couple people but haven't found a suspect.... Full story

  • Deceased Fallbrook man identified

    UPDATE: The County Medical Examiner's office has identified the deceased man who passed away in the abandoned home at 1307 E. Mission on January 28, as 25-year-old Xavier Villa. He had a nickname of Klepto, according to the SDSO Media Relations Lt. Collins, it was a suspected overdose. Those interviewed on the morning of the death stated that the cause was likely a fentanyl overdose. The Medical Examiner's office reports that the death is still under investigation.   • 2000 customers lose power in Fallbrook

    A power outage for 2008 customers has resulted from a traffic accident reported at 10:39 am this morning. There are downed power lines on Alvarado St. The outage was expected to last until 4 pm, however many homes were restored by 11:40 am. According to SDGE, by 11:40 am only 11 customers were without power.... Full story

  • Tree down blocking Gird Rd

    A tree fell this morning while it was still dark at about 5:30 am causing a traffic hazard. The downed tree is blocking the Gird Rd. northbound lane near Diego Estates DR south of the Monserate Winery. Caltrans is working to remove it from the street.... Full story

    There was a two-vehicle collision reported on NB I-15 at SR 76 at 6:41 pm. Injuries unknown. A three-vehicle collision on S. Mission Rd. at 5:23 pm. All declined medical treatment. One person spun out and stopped at the center divide facing sideways on the I 15 S near 395 S onramp, reported at 5:07 pm. No injuries were reported.   • ASTREA helicopter looking for a male robbery suspect

    About 3:20 this afternoon, the ASTREA helicopter was looking for male, thin build, black Northface hoodie, black mask and pants, 5'8" in the 1200 block of S. Mission Rd. in Fallbrook.   • Car accident causes power outage

    At 3:36 am this morning, Jan 1, 2023, a car hit a power pole at 2306 E. Mission Rd (near Hamilton) in Fallbrook causing 420 homes to lose power and E. Mission to be closed to through traffic. CHP reported that the power pole was "sheared and in the trees, causing a full road closure." Power was restored by 6:30 am. No reports on injuries or when traffic will be completely open.   • EMTs hospitalized after NCFPD Ambulance struck during police pursuit

    Two North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) EMTs were transported to the hospital Christmas Eve with non-life-threatening injuries after the NCFPD ambulance they were driving was struck by a vehicle in a police pursuit. There was no patient in the ambulance as it was responding to a non-emergent automatic aid medical call to Oceanside.   • Helicopters around Gird Valley are practicing future fire drills

    There are two helicopters reported around the Gird Valley area. Cal Fire and SDG&E are practicing, using the Rainbow Water District heli-hydrant for future fire operations, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. There is another practice operation scheduled for Oct. 25, 2022. This heli-hydrant was made operational in 2021.   • Man arrested after assault at Rite-aid

    Update: 2:00 p.m. After an altercation in the parking lot of Rite Aid, Wednesday morning, Aug. 31, one man was treated for a gash on his arm by North County Fire paramedics on scene.
