  • Motorhome fire closes Mission Rd. offramp

    A vehicle fire was reported yesterday at 5:50 pm on sb I-15 near the Mission Rd offramp. The fire was contained to the motorhome.     There is a vehicle fire on I-15 Northbound just north of SR 76 that was reported at 6:17 pm tonight. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a Kia Rio sedan fully engulfed and fire spreading to vegetation. NCFPD was able to stop the rate of spread so there was no response necessary from CalFire.   • Water shutdown in northern Fallbrook neighborhoods

    Fallbrook Public Utility District has shut down several neighborhoods that are without water, including Hillcrest Lane, Knollpark Lane, Santa Margarita Road, and North Stage Coach Lane. The water is shut down due to broken underground water pipes. According to FPUD, not all areas are without water. Some homes may experience low water pressure.     FALLBROOK - A pedestrian was killed Saturday night on a road near the Fallbrook gate of the U.S. Naval Weapons Station. The crash was reported at 9:12 p.m. at 575 Ammunition Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. According to NCFPD PIO John Choi, "It was an adult male with a bicycle. He was struck by a small sedan. When crews arrived on the scene he was in full CPR status and succumbed to his injuries from traumatic arrest." His identity hasn't been released at this time.     A collision was reported today, Sunday, at 2:97 pm on Fallbrook Street and Potter. A black Honda vs a white Nissan. According to NCFPD John Choi, both cars ended up on the sidewalk and there was one minor injury, however, no one was transported.   • UPDATE: Residential Fire contained in Rainbow

    The residential fire reported at 1468 Rainbow Crest has been contained. According to NCFPD John Choi it was an exterior fire that didn't go into the interior of the house. NCFPD went into the attic to make sure it hadn't spread inside. The family was able to reoccupy the two-story home and while the cause is under investigation, the shed where the fire started was a yard storage shed.... Full story

A witness stated he observed a pick-up that was heading west on Alvarado turning into Morro Drive and did not see a black Hyundai headed east. They hit head-on.     A traffic collision was reported 7: 14 pm tonight, Tuesday, Aug 31 for a single vehicle rescue collision that happened at the 1800 block of Green Canyon Rd, according to NCFPD PIO John Choi. PIO Choi said a Land Rover was reported to be traveling at high speeds, couldn't negotiate the turns and ran over two sets of fences before overturning.   • Three life-flighted from 395 rescue crash

    An accident was reported at 1:12 p.m. at Old 395 S. and SR 76. Rescue crews found that it was actually 1 1/2 miles north of there at Old Hwy 395 and Stewart Canyon. Cruisers arrived on scene and found a 2004 Champagne-colored Honda Odyssey over the side between Hwy 395 and the freeway. It had rolled off the road and landed at the base of a hill.
