LAKE MATHEWS - A 27-year-old woman was killed today in a two- vehicle crash near Lake Mathews. Martha Cruz of Perris suffered fatal injuries when her 2000 Toyota Corolla slammed into the side of a dump truck around 8:30 a.m. on Cajalco Road, about a half-mile west of La Sierra Avenue and roughly three miles east of Interstate 15, according to the California Highway Patrol. National Finals Rodeo barrel racer Michele McLeod departed Las Vegas the morning after NFR's conclusion, and her first stop was Bonsall. McLeod left Las Vegas the morning of Dec. 15 and visited Bonsall's Linda Stenerson that afternoon. Stenerson was the National Barrel Horse Association district director when McLeod lived in Temecula.
