I have written to the editor before to tell everyone about all the saints who live in Fallbrook and most of them on my street. I was recently diagnosed with Broken Heart Syndrome (stress cardiomyopathy) and my neighbors, all keep a close watch on me to be sure that I’m well; also my beloved doggy sitter Paulette who has had my dog, Prince Kelly Callahan, since August and will keep him until I’m able to walk him again. I come to Fallbrook yearly to visit family during the holidays. This year I found myself experiencing an unusual pain in my upper left chest area on New Years Eve. I went to the emergency room at Fallbrook Hospital. After waiting about 30 seconds, they took me back and gave me a thorough examination. A banner informing the public about sign-ups for the Bonsall Fallbrook Little League (BFLL) was taken sometime between noon Sunday, Dec. 23 and noon, Monday, Dec. 24 off a chain link fence at the entrance to the Lake Rancho Viejo community. It was a cold -7 degrees when I set off to spend the day at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Ill., just outside of Chicago, a few weeks ago. In a state hit hard by the economic times, a new assessment on lumber has been levied by California lawmakers. Assembly Bill (AB) 1492, concerning lumber products went into effect Jan. 1. What had been the oldest fire engine in the Rainbow Volunteer Fire Department’s fleet is now being bid upon on an online auction site. Bids will close Jan. 21 on the 1989 Ford C8000 Type 1 Engine. Five new automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) were received by the Rainbow Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) in late December. The fire department had received a $7,400 grant from the Fallbrook Healthcare District in late summer for the five new AEDs. “It was a little bit of a process and a lot of paperwork to do, but they were very helpful and awarded us the grant,” said Rainbow VFD fire chief Bruce Fried.
