The Devenport family, who lived in Bonsall from 1998 through 2003, won $3,000 at the Bustin’ Out Barrel Race over New Year’s weekend. FALLBROOK – In May of 2010, over 200 fourth graders at La Paloma Elementary School planted several varieties of sage seedlings in containers under the direction of Save Our Forest (SOF) volunteers. A Fallbrook couple died instantly when the vehicle they were traveling in on South Mission Road veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 where Overland Trail intersects with South Mission, just south of Fallbrook High School. San Diego County has seen a significant drop in its overall collision count from 2009 to 2010, and the drop has been experienced in the greater Fallbrook area as well. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the overall collision count for the county in 2010 was 3,832, a significant decrease from 2009’s 3,992. The San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board settled a May 2008 Fallbrook Public Utility District sewer discharge violation by approving a $3,000 penalty against FPUD. The RWQCB’s 6-0 vote January 12 imposes the mandatory minimum penalty for an effluent limitation violation.
