I am grateful for the invitation to write to you in this “Faith Matters” section of our Village News. I first want to express greetings to all who may know me and then introduce myself to those who may not. My name is Art Blodgett, and I have served as a pastor at the Community Baptist Church since 1993. I present the following thoughts and information to you because I not only believe that our faith matters but I also believe that it should make a difference. As I write this day, I am first reminded that January 22 mar...
It’s early Sunday morning and a cool, rainy breeze has sent my chubby cat, Claire, seeking refuge in my lap under our prized orange blanket. My son, Chris and I love that old blanket mainly because it belonged to my husband, Terry, who brought it from New Zealand. It is spun from the softest wool, yet as ugly as it gets. If the h...

In January the boards of both fire protection districts approved a merger, which wo... Full story

The implementation of the Interim Agricultural Water Program cutbacks requires farmers on the IAWP program to reduce water deliveries by 30 percent. The cutbacks which took effect January 1 could also adversely affect the weighted vote of the San Diego County Water Authority’s agricultural-oriented member agencies. The SDCWA uses a weighted vote system in which the member vote entitlement is calculated based on the total financial contribution from each agency. The totals include water delivered and sold to CWA member a...
