FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Blanket Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, recently received a grant of $2,000 from the Graef Family Foundation. The Fallbrook Blanket Project was begun in November 2014 with the mission to provide blankets and other knitted or crocheted items to persons in need. The Fallbrook Public Utility District will be replacing two crew support utility trucks. FPUD’s board voted 5-0, Jan. 28, to approve the purchase of two Ford F550 pickup trucks along with a valve and vacuum system. Whack-a-mole is used colloquially to denote a repetitious and futile task: each time an adversary is "whacked", it only pops up again somewhere else. We need to use Whack a Mole to deal with each new proposal to increase our California taxes. We can't stop the proposals from coming, but at least we can whack them down. FUESD’s attorney, Daniel Shinoff, said that three maps were initially submitted for consideration and that our community map was submitted later. Not true. It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of Donald Edison Thompson Hambric informs his friends that Don passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. at the age of 75. In December, he suffered a seizure and, complicated by long standing heart problems, he continued in an incapacitated state until mid-January when his decline visibly worsened. Clarence M. Nejo “Louchie” was born on March 30, 1951 to Mary Nejo and Carl Siva. He passed away on Feb. 8, 2019 at his home on the Pala Indian Reservation surrounded by his loving family. Louchie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clifford Nejo.
