FALLBROOK – The Mah Jong Dragons of Fallbrook recently awarded their championship trophy for 2009, a dragon plaque, to Priscilla White, the club player with the highest average score for the year. FALLBROOK – On January 23, cribbage players from all over Southern California gathered for the 9th Annual Fallbrook Avocado Cribbage tournament. Winner of the main tournament was Shelley Berman of La Mesa. In the final match, Berman lost the first two games to Bill Eilers of Laguna Woods, and came back to win the last three games to take the championship. Hundreds of tea bags went in the mail the beginning of February with an invitation to enjoy a cup of tea and requesting a donation to the auxiliary’s scholarship fund. An individual who served beer to a 19-year-old Fallbrook man, who later died in a drunk-driving collision, has pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor of furnishing alcohol to a minor. While earlier stories by other publications erroneously claim he had pleaded guilty, Shane Seal, 22, pleaded no contest in the furnishing of alcohol to Sean Walker Jordan, 19, at a house party in December 2008. The Warriors won five of six tournament games between February 4 and 6, losing only to Bishop’s in the championship match.
