  • Homicide investigation underway following discovery of body in Fallbrook

    The Sheriff's Homicide Unit has launched an investigation following the discovery of a body found yesterday (Thurs., Feb. 18) in the northern end of Fallbrook. The body was found in the 42400 block of Via Del Gavilan, north of Cinco Arroyos at about 6:30 p.m. last night, Sheriff's Lt. Andrea Arreola reported.     Fallbrook is fortunate to have numerous non-profit organizations that raise funds to support worthy causes in the community, but the powerhouse of giving that the Angel Society of Fallbrook continues, month after month, is at the top. The group generally makes charitable distributions every two months and the sum total is staggering.     CORONA - The Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona will be completely shut down tonight, marking the start of a 55-hour closure to accommodate construction activity on the east-west artery.
