FALLBROOK – The machines will be whirring and members will be constructing “Quilts of Love” at the March 3 meeting of the Fallbrook Quilt Guild. Quilters will haul in their machines, basic sewing supplies and cutting tools as the process begins. The probability that Ms. Burge, Misters Bowles and Stanton, and Dr. Sisel are Christians is probably more geographical than theological. George W. Furqueron Jr., 85, passed away in his Fallbrook home Feb. 14, 2011 of natural causes. George, son of George W. Furqueron Sr. and Mary Bennett Furqueron, was born May 22, 1925 in Henderson N.C. Shortly after graduating from Henderson High School in 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. Cliff Dapper, who was known outside of Fallbrook for having a .471 batting average in the major leagues and for being traded for announcer Ernie Harwell but who was known in Fallbrook for his support of local baseball, passed away February 8.
