    RIVERSIDE - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose to its highest amount since Oct. 5 today, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.847. The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 20 of the past 21 days and is 8.7 cents more than one week ago and 23.9 cents higher than one month ago, but 43.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.     MURRIETA - A June 16 trial date was scheduled today for a convicted felon accused of inflicting a near-fatal beating on a San Jacinto convenience store clerk who tried to stop him from stealing liquor.
