    FALLBROOK — The Iowa Street School Amateur Radio Club, under the direction of teacher Phil Leonelli (WF6L), announced that two sixth-graders form the school earned their first Amateur Radio licenses. Sixth-graders Nicole Baker (KG6YPN) and Zachary Robinson (KG6YPM) passed the 35-question test to receive their “call” letters.     The boys are competing against the girls this week at Fallbrook High School. Each day is filled with great lunchtime activities to earn points for the Battle of the Genders competition. This week’s dress-up days are as follows: Monday — Hawaiian Day, Tuesday — GI Joe/Barbie Day, Wednesday — Pirate Day, Thursday — Disco Day, Friday — Blue/Pink Day.     The Warrior boys volleyball teams played the Orange Glen Patriots, who came from Escondido to play Fallbrook on March 10. The junior varsity teams play the best out of three games, and varsity teams play the best out of five. Varsity The first game of the varsity match was a warmup for both teams, it seemed. The Patriots and Warriors both inched up in points, side by side, until the score was tied 2-2.   • Fallbrook wins easily in Feb. Senior Challenge

    At the cribbage match held at the Fallbrook Senior Center on February 24, the Fallbrook team pegged their way to their second straight win this year. There were 41 players and first place Norm Peterson had hot cards, winning all six games with two skunks. Playing a warm-up game before the match, Barbara Sacic had a 28 hand. She kept up the good cards to claim second place also with six wins but without any skunks.
