CHP changed the status from an accident with no injuries to an accident with major injuries. CHP responded to a three-vehicle collision on S. 395, north of SR 76 at Canonita Dr. at 6:35 pm tonight, Tuesday. According to the CHP, someone reported that it was a small white sedan vs a Grey Dodge Ram pickup truck. Another vehicle was also involved and they were reported as blocking the roadway. SAN DIEGO - A U.S. Navy doctor pleaded guilty in San Diego federal court today to his role in a scheme that involved making false medical claims to a military insurance program in exchange for unearned benefits. Michael Villarroel, 51, of Coronado, is one of 10 people to plead guilty in a scheme that bilked the Traumatic Servicemembers Groups Life Insurance Program out of around $2 million. BAKER, Calif. - A long freight train carrying iron ore derailed in a remote area of the Mojave Desert on Monday but there were no injuries, authorities said. SDG&E is reporting two outages at 4:57 pm today, Monday, March 27, 2023. One circuit, FB1, is affecting over 1041 homes and businesses in central Fallbrook. The other circuit is affecting 1957 homes from the Live Oak area down to the SR 76. SDG&E reports that they are investigating the outages and they estimate that the power will be back on by 7:30 pm to 8 pm. Alll power was restored. This is an early version story. About 2000 SDGE customers lost power this evening for about 5 minutes at approx. 10:45 pm. According to SDGE, the cause for the outage wasn't yet known. There didn't appear to be any accidents reported according to North County Fire and the CHP. Early breaking news story At about noon today, Sunday, one motorcycle rider was taken into custody by CHP, according to witnesses on the scene in Bonsall River Village. Reports are that the pursuit started in Riverside and included two motorcycles. Apparently, one was able to escape the pursuit. The second person was pursued all the way to Bonsall River Village, where he attempted to hide the bike and himself. Officers took him into custody at about noon. More information... Full story
