I drive on South Mission Road everyday and would like to thank the businesses and service clubs that have landscaped and maintained the median. The trees, shrubs and ground cover are all in bloom. Of late I have been inundated with letters and petitions from my party’s leadership (the GOP) which all have one thing in common – “Get rid of Pelosi.” I ask you, is my party’s leadership so lacking in positive ideas that the only avenue for progress is to eliminate the opposition? Frankly, I am shocked! Surely, with all the brain power available within the GOP, we can come up with intelligent, meaningful proposals to improve our way of doing things. Why is it necessary for Steele, Boehner and others to resort to such...
Despite predictions from Republicans, the sky didn’t fall when the Health Care Reform Bill passed both the House and Senate. And, public opinion is building in support of it, now that the actual benefits are being reported and understood. Republicans are already designing their fundraising ads promising to repeal it. But, other staunch conservatives like David Frum, a former speechwriter for President Bush said, “…health-care reform had been a debacle for the Republican Party… suffering their most crushing legisla...

The problem should be solved by the federal government but it is not. The Constitution, Article IV, Section 4 reads: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion.” Ten to 20 million persons have illegally entered the United Sta... Kudos to the Fallbrook High School FFA members and advisors for the plant sale they held Saturday, March 20, at the high school. They offered a variety of healthy, attractive plants at very reasonable prices. The arrangement of the plants made selection easy. And the best part was the helpful, patient young people who answered questions, pulled wagons loaded with customers’ purchases, and even unloaded them into vehicles after purchase. I had never been to one of the plant sales before, but I will certainly go again. H... Full story
