SAN DIEGO - San Diego County will partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration on Saturday, April 27 to participate in the agency's 17th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. SAN DIEGO - A Poway man accused of stealing almost $8 million from dozens of people, mostly senior citizens, through an elaborate Ponzi-style scheme spanning half a decade was charged with 82 felonies, including grand theft, fraud and elder abuse. SAN DIEGO - The county's Health and Human Services Agency reminded residents to vaccinate their children against measles after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed cases in 22 states. The current U.S. measles outbreak is the largest on record since the disease was declared eliminated from the country in 2000. SAN DIEGO - The city of Oceanside and vacation rental website Airbnb announced an agreement today to collect vacation rental taxes that will benefit the city's general fund. On May 1, Airbnb will start collecting the city's 10 percent transient occupancy tax and 1.5 percent tourism marketing district tax on all of its vacation rental listings in Oceanside. SAN DIEGO - During an annual memorial in honor of California road workers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, state officials paid tribute to a longtime Caltrans employee from the San Diego area killed last year in a fall from a state Route 163 bridge. SAN DIEGO - The Assembly voted 48-16 today in favor of a bill co-authored by three San Diego County legislators that will ban gun and ammunition sales at gun shows held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. BONSALL - A 26-year-old Fallbrook man died almost a week after he was gravely injured in a rollover crash in Bonsall, authorities reported on Monday, April 22.
