Nils Nielsen began his professional volleyball career with a season in Switzerland which concluded with participation in the Swiss all-star game. The holiday commemorates the victory of the Méxican militia over the French army at the Battle of Puebla (100 miles east of México City) on May 5, 1862. Above all else, American Legion Commander Ken Van Antwerp was a patriot. He made no secret of his love, support and allegiance to the United States of America.
