    SAN DIEGO - Winds blowing up to 35 miles per hour were expected to hit San Diego County late today. The National Weather Service issued a wind warning for the county's mountains and deserts today. Winds from the west will blow at sustained speeds of 20-35 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. They will be at their strongest between this afternoon and evening, and die down at about 10 p.m. tonight.   • Replica of Vietnam Memorial Wall on display at USS Midway

    SAN DIEGO - A half-size replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., will go on display to the public this morning at the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. The Wall That Heals -- which contains the names of 58,286 Americans who died in the conflict -- arrived Friday, two days before the 40th anniversary of the fall of Saigon.   • Alleged stolen big rig chase ends in arrest

    TEMECULA - A 42-year-old suspected of stealing a big rig and leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase on southbound Interstate 15 from Temecula in Riverside County into San Diego County was jailed Friday night, April 24.
