On behalf of St. Vincent de Paul Charity in Fallbrook, I would like to express our thanks to Megan Marshall, a senior at Fallbrook High School. She was this year’s chairperson of the Canned Food Drive at the High School. When Megan learned of the Food Pantry (located at St. Peter’s Church), which is funded by St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop, she offered to share some of the canned food with our pantry. This pantry provides food for about 20 families a week in our town who are in need. Last week Megan appeared with a car...
There is a threat to our water system that stems from Gregory Canyon all the way to the South County of San Diego. The threat is known as the Gregory Canyon Landfill and the effect will be to the San Luis Rey River, one of the last free-flowing rivers in California it borders on the proposed Gregory Canyon landfill site and we simply don’t have enough assurances from our water boards that the current plan will address all the issues. Waste will literally be dumped within 100 feet of our aqueduct. How can our water boards i...

Does this make sense to anyone?” The Fallbrook Union High School District Board of Education made an emphatic objection to Governor Schwarzenegger’s public school budget cutting propos...
My wife and I are new members of Fallbrook Fairplan. We recently attended the Fallbrook Planning group meeting in which they decided on a recommendation on the “3P’s” project at the corner of I-15 and SR 76. Our choice is that the land be preserved as open space, but that will not be happening. We believe that the Planning Group recommendation to the Board of Supervisors is a reasonable one considering the political realities of the situation. The political reality is that the Board of Supervisors, none of whom live or work...
I was one of several hundred people who attended the Fallbrook Planning Group’s May 2 meeting to discuss the proposed county plans for Campus Park at the intersection of I-15 and Hwy 76.
