  • Car catches fire on 15 Freeway

    The southbound 15 Freeway was snarled with traffic through Rainbow Sunday afternoon after a vehicle caught fire. Around 3 p.m., the engine of a 2015 Mercedes traveling south on the freeway caught fire and the vehicle was forced to pull over to the right shoulder, said CHP officer Mike Lassig. The vehicle became engulfed in flames shortly thereafter, and the fire spread to some nearby brush, Lassig said.     SAN DIEGO – A small Menifee liquor store located next to a retirement village 70 has vaulted into the history books for selling one of the biggest lottery tickets in U.S. lottery history: a Powerball ticket worth an estimated $448 million before taxes.
