BERMUDA DUNES - An abduction attempt was thwarted this afternoon when the 8-year-old victim got away from his would-be kidnappers and ran for help, authorities said. HEMET - A gunman ended an argument at a party in Hemet today by shooting three people, deputies said. The shootings occurred at 1:03 a.m. in the 40000 block of East Stetson Avenue in Hemet, said Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Mike. ANZA - A 54-acre brush fire near Anza-Borrego Desert State Park was fully contained tonight after repeated ground and air assaults, and a firefighter was hurt, the Riverside County Fire Department reported. The blaze at Tule Canyon Truck Trail and Terwilliger Road was reported at 3:26 p.m. Saturday, said department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, adding that no structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.
