    Fallbrook resident Barrett Heyneman graduated from the California Institute of Technology (CIT) on June 10, 2005. A product of Fallbrook schools, Barrett received a full-ride academic scholarship to CIT. Barrett graduated with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, graduating with honors, and will continue his education at Stanford University in the fall.     The 66 eighth-grade students who attended the Washington, DC, trip got back on June 3. The opportunity to see all the famous monuments and places was amazing and appreciated by all the students. Many of us on the trip mourned for the deceased at the Vietnam Memorial and the Holocaust Museum.     Carlos Mendez, a 12-year-old seventh-grader at Potter Junior High and a student in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program, has won a $5,000 San Diego Padres Scholarship.
